Bake double batches of cookies and freeze the extras for those times when guests arrive unexpectedly. Cookies can be frozen in a freezer-safe container for up to 6 months. When company comes, thaw the cookies in the covered container at room temperature for 1 to 2 hours. For crisp cookies, remove them from the container to thaw.
