Waiter Serves Up Act of Kindness to Pregnant Woman

Mom 2 Bee Good Luck

An unexpected gift for a visibly pregnant customer from a restaurant server. In a welcome reversal of a recent spate of hate messages left on food bills, a worker at a Red Robin restaurant in North Carolina deducted her $11.50 charge from the meal with the note:  “MOM 2 BEE GOOD LUC."

According to an article in the Huffington Post, the woman was treated to the act of goodwill while dining out with her husband and toddler. Another example of how a little bit of good service can go a long way.

“It was a pleasant surprise and made my tired of being pregnant [sic] wife a little more cheery,” said her husband.

Red Robin spokesperson Kevin Caulfield claimed such random acts of kindness are actively encouraged by the company. It's not unheard of for "team members to go above and beyond to take care of guests," sometimes producing a card or small gift for a celebrating couple.

A breath of fresh air and a savvy move, which will no doubt only spell more business for Red Robin. When people are treated right, they will go back again and again, hoping for a repeat experience.

Too often bills provide restaurant staff (and customers) the opportunity to exchange a hateful remark. Some recent example include the employee who wrote “fat girls” on the bill of three women, and A Friendly’s customer scribbled “100% Sh*t Show" on a bill after a botched service.

Others have failed to tip, or have left lewd remarks in their wake

Is it acceptable to write a message of any kind on a bill, or should service-related comments be directed at the management?
