April is Autism Awareness Month and every April 2nd isWorld Autism Awareness Day. A friend of mine, Brianne Buckman- Kalechstein, is helping to spread the word with such fierce determination, passion and success that I feel compelled to share her story.

My daughter Lauren is a seventeen-year-old competitive gymnast. When she was in elementary school, I remember one of the moms striking up a conversation with me about the fact that I was allowing my daughter to specialize in one activity. She told me that she was a competitive swimmer when she was a child and thought that her parents made a mistake.
Picture this: A tall, dark-haired woman with bright blue eyes sits at her computer. She is surrounded by neatly piled gift cards for free gas, cash, shopping sprees at your favourite stores, free groceries and even a free trip or two. A refrigerater with a red bow around it stands in a corner of her office. I recently attended my first ever women's retreat, organized by a group of women who call themselves The Spirituelle Divas. These ladies come together to support and empower one another. Their annual retreat took place at the The Nottawasaga Inn situated in a tranquil setting an hour north of Toronto, Ontario. The weekend consisted of women-led workshops that covered several topics all relating to self-love, as well as lots of yummy food, a bonfire, and nature walks.

Math scares me. Believe it or not, even though I'm the Prize Queen, I rarely enter contests myself. Recently, YMC teamed up with UPS, and together we created a panel of judges who were given the task of finding Canada's Most Inspiring Mompreneurs. Women from all over Canada submitted their personal stories, describing their incredible and inspiring journeys. You can just imagine how difficult it was to choose our top six Mompreneurs. Our panel has finally given us the list of six amazing women,even though we thought that all the submissions were awesome.
