Tips To Get Rid Of The Stress And Keep Your Cash

save money at christmas

The holidays can be a hectic time, with stresses on time and money.

Here are some handy tips to help you get the most out of both!

Ask the kids what they want. Get them to write their letter to Santa BEFORE buying your items. What they want is not written in stone until that letter goes out.

Make sure to ask the parents of other children you are buying for what they would like. You don’t want to give them something they don’t want or worse, they already have (gasp!) Once you have an idea of everything you need to buy.... Make a list & check it twice - save time & money! Use Jen’s (Control Freak’s) spreadsheet so you have a checklist of what to buy.

Planning helps you get your shopping done fast and efficiently. You can beeline through the store checking things off as you go making your trip faster and saving you from multiple trips! It will also help you control over-buying. You’ll thank yourself in both time and money by simply jotting down what you need to buy!

Now use the list and ....

Check your flyers - get the best price! The holiday season is in full swing and the deals are on! Armed with your list, you are ready to hit the stores so make the most of your budget by checking the flyers for the best price. I know, you’re saying that that sounds nice, but you don’t have time to go from store to store. Well, you don’t have to!!!

You can get the lowest price in one place, with price matching. Stores like Walmart will match any advertised price. So if you happen to find an item for less they will give it to you for the lower price! All you need to do is find the items in-store and take them to the cash with the flyers showing the better price (if you find one) and they will adjust the price on the spot! It’s that easy to get the lowest price while shopping in one place!

Out of stock? But, I want it at the sale price! Ask for a raincheck so you can get the item at the sale price. Be sure to ask when they are expecting a shipment, so you don’t miss out again!

Online shopping make it easy to comparison shop, plus it's convenient! If shopping in your pajamas while sipping on a Tassimo and having your items delivered is more to your liking than battling holiday crowds, check out Bing Shopping. Bing Shopping is a great online tool that will save you time by allowing you to easily search for all the items you need, and save you money with their deal ranking feature that lets you know if it's a great buy.

Don’t forget to ask about return policies & remember to always keep your receipts for easy returns & warranties!
