Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Williams Sonoma Inc. have jointly recalled the canopy which forms part of the Madeline Bedroom Collection, as the connections of the posts to the top canopy rails may come apart, causing a fall hazard.
Williams-Sonoma has received a total of 33 reports of incidents of the canopy collapsing, with one customer reporting an injury that required stitches and several others reporting minor cuts, bruises and/or bumps.
Customers are advised to immediately remove the canopy from the bed and contact Pottery Barn Kids at 1-855-662-4114 to schedule a free repair.
From December 2003 to August 2011, approximately, 230 units of the products were sold in Canada and 7,700 in the United States.
