White jeans — the summer wardrobe staple that's both timeless and totally on-trend — are a pipe dream for klutzy women like me. Pristine white denim is a stain magnet, irresistibly attractive to coffee, ketchup and red wine spills (through no fault of my own, I might add).
Now, however, messy eaters everywhere can get in on one of the season's must-haves without fear, thanks to Old Navy's new "stain-repellent" skinnies.
The brand's Mid-Rise Stay-White Rockstar Super Skinny jeans promise to repel pretty much everything, "so your jeans stay white, no matter how messy the day gets."
Sounds too good to be true? This video of Refinery29's fashion news writer Ana Colón testing out her new denim will make you a believer.
Old Navy senior designer Melissa Morrin explains the denim magic. "The pairs are treated with a stain-resistant wash, which makes liquids roll off the surface, magically, making the jeans perform well with many of your everyday liquid spills like coffee, juice, and wine; and combat more difficult stains after one wash," she says.
"White denim is a must-have for spring and summer, and for many, it replaces classic-wash denim to become the everyday jean style," Morrin adds.
Retailing for $49.50, the "universally flattering" pant is available in stores and online.
