Prince George Turns One Amidst Media Maelstrom

World Goes Gaga over Most Eligible Toddler

The world's most famous baby is one year old today. Bless him, so far little Prince George is blissfully unaware of the public's adulation—which is probably just as well.

According to a press release, the third in line to the British throne has legions of admirers. The kids clothing label My1stYears.com compiled a list of 50 reasons to love Prince George—from chubby cheeks and an impeccable fashion sense, to nostalgia for his granthe late Diana, Princess of Walesand his great-gran, the Queen herself.

“He looks just like the perfect baby, he’s got those big blue eyes and such a cheeky smile,” said one mom. Really? Perfect because his existence is limited to the glossy stills in the likes of Hello! magazine. I'm sure he wails and fills his diapers with the best of them.

“From his first appearance outside the hospital, right through to his trips to Australia and New Zealand, we have watched his every move," said My1stYears spokesperson. "And he’s already given the British economy a boost as everything he wears sells out in hours.”

Indeed, in addition to having an actual economic "effect" named after him, the Little Prince has single-handedly brought a tired monarchy back into vogue. Little Georgie is also credited with being a "style icon" and "future most eligible toddler in the world."

So what does one get a future king for his first birthday? Well, a German manufacturer has confirmed Georgie will be the proud recipient of its Blue Whale slide, which seems like a fitting choice.

Happy cake-smash day, Georgie! Make the most of your youth.

Do you buy into the baby George craze? Or is the poor wee fellow a PR cash cow already?

It seems like only yesterday we announced the royal squee.
