So, of course I have baby on the brain. Baby number two, aka Lauchie, aka Lucky, aka Lachlan (more on his arrival and name in weeks to come) is two weeks old and I'm working on getting back into my normal routine. And then Kim Kardashian has to go and upstage me by having her baby, North, weeks early (celebrity baby names, amirite?). But news today is that the lunacy surrounding the early arrival of little North West (no middle name, aka Nori) isn't quite over.
Two big pieces of news I didn't want to miss out on sharing with you guys, both of which have me shaking my head for completely different reasons. The first involves TV chef, and absolute babe, Nigella Lawson and her husband, 70 year old multi-millionaire Charles Saatchi. They were out for lunch on the weekend in London and paps there caught the couple in an argument.
So, I've been a bit quiet this last week, and for very good reason. Last Monday, we welcomed our second son into the world after an insane 19 hours of labour (for a second kid!). After what I assumed was a false labour Sunday night, Lachlan (Lauchie) David came roaring out around 9am Monday. I had Lauchie at home, with midwives and no drugs or other medical intervention.
In oddly strange (yet somehow satisfying) news, looks like Saturday night's Britain's Got Talent finale was crashed by a former contestant. A contestant from last season, Natalie Holt, crashed the stage during one of the finalist's performances to throw eggs at judge/producer Simon Cowell.
This week, Radar Online decided to post a slideshow of Hollywood's Best and Worst Parents. The headline I'd intitially seen over on ONTD was Hollywood's Worst Dads and I clicked through wondering why in the hell anyone would want to target dads this way, and just before Father's Day.
Last night was the premiere of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and we finally found out the gender of Kim and Kanye's baby. Her sisters and mum rallied around her because Kanye couldn't be with her (apparently, he was with her for 2-3 other ultrasounds previous), but earlier in the episode, Kim admitted to her mum that she felt like she was, "letting everyone down" because she wasn't excited about the pregnancy.
Just in time for the end of the regular school year for most kiddies, Disney/Pixar is releasing Monsters University; the story of our two favourite monsters from Monsters Inc and how they met in their college days. Turns out, Sully was a star everything in college, and Mike Wazowski was both jealous and worked very hard to keep up with his first-year roomie.
I've been trying to avoid talking about this because it isn't so much a scandal, nor is it something that should be taken lightly. Amanda Bynes is in the news yet again. This time, for allegedly throwing a bong out of a car window to avoid arrest. After her arrest, erratic behaviour and court appearance, she says that police sexually assaulted her and that was when she was arrested: after she fought back against the assault.
When I read this news today, I started grinning ear-to-ear. I'm not exactly sure why, but for all the struggles Demi Moore has had over the last few years, something about this has made me chuckle to myself. I think I may have actually said, "Get it, girl!" out loud at my computer.
