This past weekend, while we were all outside (I hope), the Kim Kardashian/Kanye West wedding happened in Florence, Italy. The star-studded event was hosted at a fortress rented by the millionaires for the event. Photos of Kims dress started circulating Saturday afternoon here in Toronto, and by Sunday, everyone had seen all the Instagramming, photoboothing madness.
Generally speaking, I don't mind the Kardashians. Sure, the show is ridiculous and "momager" Kris is creepy the way she pushes her whole family into the spotlight, but I do think that they also can get unnecessary flack just for being "do nothing" famous. That being said, they have their names all over tonnes of brands, and have now just added it to another: Kardashian Kids, exclusively at Babies R Us.
I seem to talk about Kim Kardashian an awful lot. But to be fair, I find her whole shtick super interesting. Love her or hate her, this latest piece of gossip seems to be tables turning.
So, of course I have baby on the brain. Baby number two, aka Lauchie, aka Lucky, aka Lachlan (more on his arrival and name in weeks to come) is two weeks old and I'm working on getting back into my normal routine. And then Kim Kardashian has to go and upstage me by having her baby, North, weeks early (celebrity baby names, amirite?). But news today is that the lunacy surrounding the early arrival of little North West (no middle name, aka Nori) isn't quite over.
Last night was the premiere of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and we finally found out the gender of Kim and Kanye's baby. Her sisters and mum rallied around her because Kanye couldn't be with her (apparently, he was with her for 2-3 other ultrasounds previous), but earlier in the episode, Kim admitted to her mum that she felt like she was, "letting everyone down" because she wasn't excited about the pregnancy.
This week, Tori Spelling debuts her 45lb post-baby weight loss in US Magazine. In the corresponding article, she talks about her unplanned fourth pregnancy, the placenta previa which caused bed rest and her (gasp) 30lb weight gain. While I won't deny the woman had a tough pregnancy and her delivery was followed up by emergency surgery less than a month after baby Finn was born, I am sick to absolute death of how mothers are being portrayed in the media these days.
So, a week or two ago, I blogged about Kim Kardashian and her seemingly difficult time embracing her pregnancy. Boy, I was wrong. I talked about how I didn't understand how she could feel so uncomfortable in her own skin and not just embrace her body and the beauty that comes along with pregnancy. Then, I started noticing magazine covers on line at the grocery store. It was like they were jumping out at me.
It seems like I can't get enough of Kim Kardashian. Between her reality show, her relationship with Kanye West, and her current fashion choices, I just can't look away. Kim's close to 6 months pregnant, and, well, her wardrobe seems....uncomfortable? I think Kim's body is beautiful, and she's pretty gorgeous, but lately, I'm starting to wonder if this whole pregnancy thing isn't getting the best of her mentally.
So, as you've probably already heard, both Jessica Simpson and Kim Kardashian are pregnant. This is huge news—and not just because that means that Hailey Eisen and I are in good pregnancy company.
Two little tidbits came across my desk this week and they're both weird to me for different reasons.
The first one, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. Kimye. Something about this coupling is amazing. I love these two basket cases together. Especially after Kanye's Amber Rose years ("Imma let you finish..."), I think Kim is the perfect partner for Yeezy.
This week, Kanye deleted ALL his tweets (his tweets are epic) and left us with this:
