Contests abound at YMC! Have you heard of Hotel Albergo? If you're into Cirque, comedy, audience participation, food and want to win a night out for your family, here's your chance. I've got four tickets to the one-night-only production of Hotel Albergo on Sunday, September 23 at the Capitol Event Theatre in Toronto.
Peaches Geldof, daughter of Sir Bob Geldof (he of Live Aid/Band Aid and "Do They Know it's Christmas" fame), recently had a son (named Astala....yep.). The other day, she took her baby out for a stroll in London.
So, just going for a stroll with the baby. Chatting on my iPhone.
First thing's first—did you know that TIFF officially changed it's name to TIFF FESTIVAL? Seriously, Toronto International Film Festival Festival. What in the world are they thinking? (PS, I'm not calling it TIFF Festival. It doesn't make sense)
I love sitting back in a comfy movie-theater seat and watching the trailers for soon-to-be-released movies.
Watching them gets me thinking about all the movies I have yet to see (and all the popcorn I’m going to eat) and all the new ones I know I'll see. So, while summer is sadly winding down, it doesn’t mean the blockbusters are going to stop altogether. To get you guys excited about the cooling weather, here are some upcoming movies I’m dying to see:
Ah, autumn. Back to school. The turning of leaves. And all the new episodes of television you can handle! There's a lot of shifting, new shows and returning favourites every year, but I've got my eye on a few that I think you should check out (if you weren't already planning on it).
I'm just as guilty of it as the rest of the blogosphere—questioning celebrity relationships. Who was spotted leaving someone's apartment in the morning, accusations, infidelity...the works. This week has been no different for a string of relationship woes, but it's got me thinking: why are we so interested in this stuff? It's got to be more than Schadenfreud*.
Ah, Fan Expo. Nothing like a convention centre filled to the brim with everything from Star Trek to The Watchmen and every single imaginable steam-punk thing in between. I got a chance to chat with Event Coordinator, James Armstrong (no relation) about what's happening this year at the event, and I was surprised at just how family-friendly they strive to make the weekend. James said, "At Fan Expo Canada, we strive to entertain families.
I got an amazing response last month to my blog post about fat-shaming and pro-ana websites. But of course, it seems like hot on the heels of that, someone will always take the opposite view.
This week, in Toronto, it's Fan Expo time! I'm super excited for a number of different reasons (one of which is the fact that some of the best Star Trek people are gonna be there). But, we've also made the decision to go Friday morning with H.
With school rapidly approaching, many of us are starting to look at what extracurricular programs we can put our kids into that will provide them with stimulation as well as a sense of accomplishment. Sometimes it's swimming, and sometimes it's dance. And every once in a while, we think that our kid might just have that oomph, that wow factor that could put them into the movies.
