The Happiness List

Uncork Your Bottle Of Happiness

With the demands on each of us these days from managing a family to the economy, life can be very stressful so I thought we could all use a pick-me-up as one can only eat so much chocolate! If only one could bottle the feeling that comes with being happy and open the lid when needed……after many years of philosophizing, discussing and analyzing the concept of ‘happiness’ with my girlfriends, we concluded that it’s the little things and simple moments that make us smile and laugh throughout our everyday lives. While this may be true, we all still have those ‘blah’ days and as my 40th birthday neared, these days seemed to increase for me!

I made a list of things that made me happy – this list would serve as my reminder to be a little lighter about life on these “not so great” days....

Keeping a secret
A really great cry
Finding the perfect quote
Strolling along the streets of Paris with no destination
Every once in a while, putting myself first
A real appreciation of my mother
Great wine, great conversations, the greatest girlfriends.

We all need a reminder to smile sometimes and appreciating the little things that bring us joy is a simple way to do it.

Siobhan is presently on a maternity leave from telecom sales and she is enjoying being at home with her daughter and meeting her six and four year old sons at the bus stop after a busy day at school!

She has been creating things for her family and friends personal enjoyment for many years. However, it was my recent creation, the Happy Thoughts Jar that she wanted to share with others outside of her immediate circle. Visit her website Rire Souvent to see the entire collection of Happy Thoughts Jars.
