Drunk Woman Sues Pub for Fall

As a Skunk

A Calgary woman who got so tipsy that she fell down the stairs to the ladies room and cracked her skull, is suing the pub for $1.25 million.

Gloria Williams blames staff at the Riverbend Station Pub for allowing her to keep boozing, after she was already drunk.

When she tried to descend the stairwell to the washroom, she fell and hit the cement floor, causing substantial injuries, including a subdural haemorrhage, which required surgery, and basal skull fractures.

Williams claims the bar's owners were negligent for "failing to provide easy and safe access to its washroom facilities," together with the City of Calgary, for approving the building design.

She was left with partial paralysis of her face, right shoulder, arm, hand and leg, as well as post traumatic amnesia.

Considering the vast majority of bars and restaurants have their facilities located in the basement, should the pub, or even the City, be held responsible for this accident, or should Williams be held accountable for her own disastrous actions?
