So last night I headed out to see that famous YouTube band, Boyce Avenue play in Ottawa.
This was my second Boyce Avenue concert and they were as amazing as they were as the first time...
My only complaint was the gang of teenage girls standing behind me...I swear they broke the world record for most non-stop loud talking during a concert.
But I digress.
It's amazing that a band that gets no traditional video or radio support can sell shows all over the world.
But my heart’s getting soft and my hands are so weak , And I don’t know where I’ve been but I’m sure you'll tell me~Farewell Milwaukee ("The Wallpapers Gonna Swallow You Whole")

The duo “Splash’N Boots” (who hail from Ontario) formed in 2003 when Tess and Nick wrote some children’s tunes for a class project at Queen’s University in Kingston. Since then they have been voted "Canadian Children’s Group of the Year", performed over 700 shows in six different countries, and released five CD’s, and two full-length DVDs.
"I'm motivated by the urge to make music and express myself, rather than by some abstract idea of being some kind of pop star, so I feel like I'm making music for the right reasons." ~Edward Rogers
Jim Cuddy's third solo album 'Skyscraper Soul' (Warner Music Canada) was released yesterday and the album is a slight departure from the alt country sounds that his fans may be used to. The new album, which Jim describes as more 'cityscape' sounding (think more horns and strings) is beautiful and reflective and has this incredible flow of stories that you can follow with each song on the album.
So last night I was all snug in my bed watching the series premiere of X Factor USA.
I love me some Simon Cowell and his blunt-tell-it-like-it-is-even-if-I-hurt-your-feelings ways and those black skin tight v-neck t-shirts....well I missed those too.
But I digress.
I tweeted how ridiculously fabulous Paula Abdul looked (she did...like le damn hot) and then I figured I should follow her...
