Is it a Bird? Is it a Plane! No! It is a Waboba Ball!

Check Out the Latest in Wacky Water Play

Summer may be winding down but there's still plenty of warm days left.  Let me tell you about the latest craze in this neck of the woods. It’s great for summer play in lakes and pools and great for the beach on your next, dare I say it, winter (brrr!) vacation.

All summer long we’ve had people come into the store asking about "that ball”, the one that bounces on water!

It’s called a Waboba. I can barely keep them in stock. As soon as I get more in they bounce right out the door with the next customers. Weird name. Great toy. Great fun for both kids and adults. And it gets everyone active.

So what’s a Waboba ?Why does everyone want this thing with the weird name?

It is a small, hand-sized ball that bounces on the water like you wouldn’t believe! Great for play in pools, lakes and beaches, it is made of a polymer core and durable Lycra coating. It is about 2.5 inches in diameter, weighs approximately 60 grams and feels a bit squishy, like a stress ball. It’s a great alternative to hurling hard plastic disks at one another.

Can’t picture it? See the video below:

I don’t think the video really does justice to how much fun you can have with this toy, but you get the idea.

There are two different editions of Waboba available. There’s the Waboba Blast and the Waboba Extreme.

I recommend the Blast version for pool play as it doesn’t bounce as high, making a little easier to control. You know how annoyed the sunbathers around the pool get when an unwanted ball lands in their slushie, right?  Plus it is a little lighter and easier to use for the younger ones.

The Pro, on the other hand, has a little more ‘oomph’ and is better suited for play in larger bodies of water like a lake or even an ocean.

There are great ideas on how to use Waboba and for creating teams and new games at www.waboba.com/use. Or just make up your own! Any way you use it your family is sure to find this toy to be a cool water play essential.

Waboba is recommended for kids aged 3 years plus and both versions retail for approximately $9.99.
