Halloween is Monstober time! (With your apps, that is) There are an amazing amount of apps for your smartphone or tablet that are sure to give you and your kids a "spooktacular" time. These are my top 5 that will appeal to kids (and grownups) of all ages and are the ones we play the most at our house to get in the Halloween spirit. Apps are always being updated to included Halloween themes as well, so make sure that you keep your apps updated & you just might find a little pumpkin or ghost of a surprise in an app that you weren't expecting at all.
Millie's Book of Tricks and Treats [1] is definitely a lot of fun for young kids (ok, I got a kick out of it too). Excellent graphics combined with actual video shots of Millie the dog makes for a fun, friendly Halloween app that kids will enjoy playing. Each page of the book is different and creates a new part of a story to follow along with. This Halloween app is great for younger kids that are starting to read, but older kids will appreciate the technology that has Millie showing up behind doors. Very cool.
First off, this cool game will remind you of another one involving fights between birds and pigs. Maybe that’s why I loved Toppling Towers—Halloween [2] so much, but it was a lot of fun to play. The Pumpkin King has robbed the Princess of everything, and she needs help to win it all back. The kids can play in multi-player mode via Bluetooth, which makes the playing experience that much more fun for the kids. Excellent graphics and a storyline that’s easy for kids of all ages to follow.
I freely admit that I play math games to keep my brain working. And yes, that means elementary school type math as well! Adventure Math Halloween [3] is perfect for kids just starting to learn basic math skills at school and does a great job of integrating math problems into 4 games that kids will enjoy playing. It’s possible they won’t even realize they’re learning while they’re playing. (I didn’t).
Check out more scary secrets [4] for making this Halloween terrific-ly terrifying.
Soccer Mom, Golf Widow & Laundry Ninja in search of a quieter potato chip. When my kids were small, my favourite phrase of theirs was "I love you Mummy" but now that they're teens it's "How did you find that out?" My personal motto is "Be The Person Your Dog Thinks You Are" and that's mostly because my dog thinks I'm obviously the Smart Human who knows where the kibble is kept.
