Author Profile:

A lover of music since early childhood, April has acted as pretend publicist to The Bay City Rollers on world tours, played air drums for Queen in her rec-room, and designed Duran Duran album covers with pencil crayons.

While in her 20's, April was thrilled to begin a real career in music by joining HMV’s Toronto flagship store on Yonge Street as coordinator of in-store performances and autograph sessions. From here she went on to become a Product Manager at Zomba Records Canada, working with international pop icons like Britney Spears, N•SYNC and Backstreet Boys.

As Napster gathered steam and her label job fizzled out, April took a hiatus from music to act as a Brand Manager + Media Arts Instructor for a chain of charter schools in Arizona, as a freelance copy writer and graphic designer out of her apartment, then as a Communications Officer at a fancy-pants, independent school in Uptown Toronto (She wore her favorite band t-shirts under her blazer all the while).

Finally, when a cute boy she'd known from music re-emerged in 2009 (hooray for Facebook!), April blissfully followed him home to La Belle Province. She now lives and works in Old Montreal, and freelances as a music content writer. Her artist interviews are published on her website, Talk Rock To Me.

About my kids:
Ella Bean favours the heavy riffs of KISS and has already rubbed shoulders with real-life guitar hero, The Edge. She collects band t-shirts (like her mummy), and The Ramones, The Beatles and The Who are among her favorites.
