Tattooing Freckles is the Latest Thing in Beauty Fads. Are You In?

Move over tattooed eyeliner. Freckles are in

Women are heading to the tattoo parlor to get freckles added permanently to their faces.

I remember when people started tattooing their eyeliner. I kind of thought they were nuts - not so much in a why would you do that sort of way, but why would you let a tattoo artist's needle that close to your eyeball?? sort of way. From a time-saving standpoint though, I had to admit it was pretty cool - if you had the bazoongas of steel required to undergo the procedure. I did not, and therefore I still waste 2 minutes of my life applying eyeliner manually like a dork.

Oh well!

Back in these days, I also remember when freckles were also an undesireable thing, and something I spent many days of my teenage years trying to hide. Now they're a rage. YouTubing makeup artists have been busy teaching fans how to create the look with regular makeup. Faux Freckles has been making a name for themselves with an adhesive temporary tattoo of freckles.

Tattoo artists: We see your temporary tattoo and raise you the permanent kind.

What is it costing? About $250 per session. And there's a healing process of approximately a week. It seems like they come in two predominant colour variations as well: a sort of reddish freckle, or tanned brown.

So far the opinions seem to either run directly to either "OMG!! WANT!!" or "It looks like red blackheads." But well executed, the results can be surprisingly charming.

This trend makes it a great time for those of us who have spent our childhoods trying to cover up the freckles that embarrassed us before. But I'm still grateful that I was cursed/blessed with a few completely au naturale beauty marks of my own, so fortunately I don't have to do anything to be more fashionable in beauty trends than to stop trying to conceal mine. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable in making such a permanent addition to my face by choice!

Would you?
