Kids love dip, and let's be honest—even I can down far more veggies when I have a really great dip with it. There are lots of store bought dips out there, but often they are a little pricey and come with ingredients some of us aren’t sure of, so why not make your own? The perks of making your own not only mean you know what goes into it, but you can tailor the dip to the tastes of your family. This mild dip can be tucked into a lunch box [1] and your kids will love it.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
1 tbsp chopped fresh dill
salt and pepper to taste
lemon, zest [2] and juice
In a bowl, mix together the mayo, yogurt, about 1 tsp of lemon zest, and dill. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze juice in to taste. Stir well.
Serve with carrot sticks, cut up pieces of peppers, sugar snap peas, cherry tomatoes, and lightly steamed green beans
Makes 1 cup
