Has Halloween snuck up on you (again!)? Here are 5 easy kid costumes made with things you already have around the house.
And if you happen to have extra time…consider a Halloween costume swap with friends. Or go to your local thrift shop where you can find clothes for a disco costume, 80’s costume or sports costume…for cheap.
Housecoat, slippers, messy hair and an empty Tim Horton's cup. (also works for a Granny or Grandpa costume)
Cut out the bottom of a laundry basket. Blow up a bunch of blue & white balloons. Dress your child in all one colour (blue works best). Have child step into laundry basket and tie suspenders with rope (or a bungee cord). Attach bubbles to child's shirt with tape. A walking Bubble bath!
Jeans + a plaid shirt + a bandanna around the neck. Boots and hat optional.
Black pants + white button down shirt (raid Dad's closet) + a red scarf around the waist. A white or black pirate bandana hat can be made out of old sheets.
Take a large cardboard box and cut circle for child's head and arms to stick through. Paint box white, allow to dry an then put two dots on one side and three dots on the other. A Di! (cardboard boxes can also be used as Juice Box Costumes, Lego Costumes and Robot Costumes)
