Great With Makeup? These YouTubers Will Help You Nail Halloween

It's amazing what you can do with a little makeup and a YouTube tutorial

Are you just not feeling Halloween this year? Halloween used to be one of my favourite holidays, but lately it's been pretty blah.

Perhaps it's time to up the ante. Ditch the store-bought "sexy" costumes and check out some of these crazy possibilities. Some you can even do with regular store-bought makeup!

dope2111

For those of you with young kids (or a Disney party to go to) dope2111 has an entire series based on recreating the Disney princesses. It's great for beginners because the tutorials are simple and most of these makeup tutorials pair with a store-bought costume. The makeup makes it.

Madeyewlook

Madeyewlook's got phenomenal tutorials on creating a lot of popular characters, including C3P0 and Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas. Some require a lot of different shades of makeup... but some, like her Alice, only require white face paint and an eyeliner! For those who are looking for something a little more advanced, she also does some amazing work on creating amazing but relatively low-budget special effects like zombie bites!

Julia Graf

Not into the extensive body paint, or just want a little bit of exotic makeup to dazzle at a party? Julia Graf is the queen of eye makeup and has lots of tutorials on creating dazzling eyes, including Arabic ones.

goldiestarling

Goldiestarling not only has some super cool and unusual Halloween costume ideas that are makeup-only, she also has a how-to FX series if you feel ambitious and want to learn more about making and using bald caps and gelatin prosthetics, or even just things like realistic-looking bruises and cuts, severed limbs, and fake brains.

NsomniaksDream

For the advanced and aspiring cos-players, NsomniaksDream has some truly creepy and awesome tutorials for creating anime and other pop culture characters. Hers often require things like latex, bald caps, and adhesive, but you can't argue with the results! She's also got some great videos on what she calls face doodling, for those who just want something pretty and unusual instead of a full-fledged costume.

Sidney Cumbie

This is strictly for the pros, since it's unlikely that we'll ever spend this much time making a costume, much less this time getting into it! But still, it's impressive to watch how much work goes into some of the scary faces that we love.
