Load a couple of books that your child absolutely loves onto your e-reader, smartphone, or other device, and take it with you whenever you might encounter a wait that will make your child fidgety—at a restaurant, in line at the grocery store, at the doctor's office, etc. My daughter loves it, because this is the only time she gets to read these select few books.
