Be Prepared!

No matter how old your kids are, it's a good idea to have a grab-and-go bag for them. Unexpected trips to the emergency room can leave you reeling, so give yourself a break ahead of time by keeping a bag packed with age-appropriate items (could be diapers, wipes, change of clothes, some change for vending machines and parking, a small snack, a bottle of water, toys, list of medications for each child if they take any regularly, copy of all care cards, etc.). By planning ahead, if you ever have to rush to the emergency room or call an ambulance, you won't be running around trying to find all these things when you are scared, and you need to be with your child. And from experience, there is nothing worse than sitting in the emergency room wishing you had a diaper or money for a drink and parking.

I'm a 40 something Mom with two little boys who keep me crazy busy.  I love being a parent and since it took so long to become one, I know just how very lucky we are.  My boys have allergies so that creates some challenges for us but we work with it.

I live in the suburbs and even though I have a crazy insane 2 hour commute - each way - it's worth living where we do.  We can afford a house here, with big yard, a little school and an amazing community.  It doesn't get much better than this.
