We finally broke down and got a trampoline (after much begging from our children). We’ve been hesitant because of all the warnings that they “aren’t safe” by physician organizations. After looking through their recommendations, it isn’t clear that they are talking about the ones with the new design: springs underneath the trampoline and surrounded by netting. So we decided to have some boundaries with the kids about numbers of kids in there, flips, etc, to try to increase their safety and just go for it.
We got the trampoline last week and certainly LOVE it! It’s a “Springfree” — we also got the basketball hoop/ ball attachment. I’m so thrilled that my 7-year-old finally has a way to get his never-ending energy out! The kids are spending hours on it!

A long time ago, in a galaxy before children, I used to look pretty “got-my-shit-together” in the clothes department. Two babies, a range of yoga pants, and a yo-yo work/home life later, I have no idea how to wear clothes. I may have stopped caring, or I may just say that to compensate for my inability to find an outfit that makes me feel anything other than tired.
I want my swagger back, dammit. I’m pretty sure I need some external inspiration to make that swagger happen. You know, someone to tell me what the “kids are wearing these days” and someone who can call me on what the mom-jeans of our generation look like and whether I have been wearing them without knowing it. I’m afraid.
I imagine my hero, the Personal Style Consultant, would help me purge 40% of the clothes I currently own, and make a targeted shopping list for future fashionable purchases.
Help me, Personal Style Consultant; you’re my only hope.

I was looking for an insulated water bottle that guaranteed to keep your water cold for 24 hours. My hope was that after a long day at an outdoor camp or in my car, the water would be the temperature of something you'd want to ingest rather than something you'd just expelled from your body. I was looking at the popular brand they sell everywhere but they are usually in the $45 range. I found Pure Hydration, which is $30. They are not as sleek but they do have a carry handle and two openings at the top (one to drink from and one for ice, fruit or tea). They even come with a strainer so you can drop loose leaf tea right in. They were supposed to be for my kids but I've been using them for the last few weeks. Nothing like cold water at the end of a hot day! My kids had those bottles all week at an outdoor camp through the heat spell and the water was still cold at 4. I am torn between WTF and how do I buy stock in this company?

In my first house I had a retro tv that didn't work, but I loved the look. It was a funky little talking point in my living room surrounded by more modern pieces. As I am drawn to both looks I was pretty excited when I saw this gramophone-meets-docking-station in walnut from Restoration Hardware. This retro piece while is still a talking point is also functions!
