Fast and Fun Dye-Free Easter Egg Decor You Can Do This Week

Using Items You Can Find in Your Home

Easter Egg Decor

This Easter is going to be different for all of us but that doesn't mean we can't still find ways to celebrate and that includes decorating eggs. A trip to the store is out of the question but thankfully you don't need a dye-kit or even food colouring to get creative with eggs.  Check out these unique and beautiful ways to add sparkle to your Easter Weekend.

And when you're done with the decorating, you can use the eggs to make this best ever egg salad recipe

PULL OUT THE PAINTS!

Save your tablecloth and go dye-free! Use soap and water-friendly acrylic paints available from any craft store.

WASHI TAPE

Decorate them with washi tape for a bright, easy way to stand out in any holiday basket.

WRAP IT UP!

Some white craft glue, colour bits of wool or yarn, and you're good to go! (It's a great way to use wool yarn spools that are too short for knitting or crochet projects, too!)

GET YOUR GLUE ON!

Glue on sequins, beads and/or jewels a top a dried paint base in coordinating or contrasting colour.

PUFF IT UP

Decorate them with 3D/puffy paints and go retro! (Who didn't have a puffy painted t-shirt or pair of white sneakers in the 80's?)

DRAW ON THEM WITH COLOURED PENCILS

Hardboiled eggs - rather than hollowed, blown eggs - work best with pencil crafting as they have a bit more durability and can better stand up to little hands working away.

SHARPIE FOR THE WIN!

Sharpies are ALWAYS a favourite and everyone has them - or should! They're bright and permanent and there is no limit to what you can do with a handful or bright or black Sharpie markers.

METALLIC MAGIC

Go simple and use metallic markers OR take it up a notch and use the gold, silver, platimum, or rose gold leafing kits available at larger craft stores.
