How to Live Longer and Healthier

Three Ways to Beat Serious Illness

live long and prosper

A regular training workout program will keep you fit, healthy, and of course, make you look good. But there’s more to it. Studies show that most illnesses and modern life health quandaries can be prevented by following a training regiment that’s specifically tailored to boost immunity, strengthen the organs, and gives the exerciser the ability to beat the reaper.

Therefore, here are some practical training tips that will help you live longer and healthier.

  To Prevent Diabetes

Lifting weights to the point of exhaustion will definitely help you get the physique of your dreams, but research also shows that opting for this training strategy can help you ward off diabetes. According to a study from the American Diabetes Association, subjects were reported to show a 46% increase in insulin efficiency when lifting weights to the point of total muscle exhaustion. The reason why is simple: when you recruit more fibers during the exercise, your body accesses and releases glycogen stores more efficiently.

As a result, make sure to work hard and perform to failure. Shoot for around 60-80% of your maximum weight and perform each set to failure.

  Run From Cancer

Regular vigorous cardio activities such as running, swimming and biking help you lose weight and boost your fitness level without paying for gym fees or hiring a expensive personal trainer. That’s convenience. To add more icing on the cake, research also shows that such activities are key for fighting off cancer and other related health troubles.

According to a study conducted by The Harvard University, intense cardio exercise reduces the risk of developing cancer by more than 60%. According to the same research, any intense activity that boost metabolic rates by six produces an uninviting environment for tumor growth. Add to that the many benefits of regular cardio exercise such as endurance and muscle strength.

Therefore, make sure to add cardio training to your training program. If you’re regular gym-goer and hate doing cardio, do high intensity circuits.

  Beat Heart Disease

Heart disease kills lots of people. About 600,000 people die of heart disease in the United States every year, according to the Center of Disease Control (CDC). But you shouldn’t be just another statistic. In fact, research shows that most heart troubles can be prevented by making simple lifestyle changes. One of the simplest changes you can make is with your workout training approach. Research shows that exercising multiple muscle groups—rather than isometric training— in one workout session leads to better cardiovascular functioning by improving the amount of the oxygenated blood that gets into your bloodstream and heart.

Therefore, make sure to add full-body exercises into your strength program. Do more push-ups, squats, pull-ups, turkey get-ups (my favorite!), and other exercises that recruits multiple muscle groups. Full body exertion will not only help you fight off coronary diseases, but it’ll also help you get the body of your dreams.

So there you have it! Now you need to start implementing what you’ve jus learned. Achieving total fitness and health is not about reading hundreds of articles and stuffing more knowledge into your brain, none of that. The real secret to lasting change is consistent action, even if you’re not sure how to start or what you need to do, just get into the process of it and you’ll be amazed by the results you’ll eventually get.
