Your Pregnancy Week 22

Thicker Hair...Everywhere

by: YMC
Your Pregnancy Week 22

Your baby is about 11 inches long and may now finally weigh in at around a pound! Baby's hair is now a short, bright white crop; no matter what color it will end up—red, blonde, brown, black (and who knows what colour it will be when they are a teenager!)—all hair lacks pigment at this point in their development.

You may have noticed a difference in your own hair - ALL of your hair, actually! There are a few more physical changes, other than the bump you're sporting, that come along with pregnancy. Thicker hair everywhere, sometimes in places you never had hair before, faster growing fingernails, skin changes, dry, itchy eyes, stretch marks, larger, darker nipples and areolas (oh my!) and yup, larger feet. Most of these changes will reverse after delivery, except for your feet. They may permanently stay up to a half-size larger than they were previously…which is an excellent reason to go shoe shopping once you're up to wearing fancy shoes again!

Speaking of shoes, you can still bend over to put yours on. Enjoy it while you can. Soon your belly will be so big, bending over to touch your toes will be a distant memory.

No matter where you’re at in your pregnancy our guide will keep you up-to-date. Find out more about what’s happening to your body here.
