Renewing My Self-Confidence

I am staring at myself in front of the full-length mirror under the yellow light in the Reitman's change room. Moment of truth.

Fifty pounds removed since my last baby was born one year ago has me to this point. I take a deep breath and slip on the pair of comfort fit pants in a size I have dreamt about.   Mama; I Look Fabulous. They slipped on like a pair of leather gloves. My muffin top was down to one roll.  I did a happy dance when I saw that they were marked at fifty percent off the last price. I have to buy them. The January sales have begun.

I left my kids with their daddy and dropped off the clothing donations to Value Village. With a little time to spare; I thought I would try on some new clothes. I cannot remember the last time I felt so good. Donating the maternity clothes and my post-partum fat clothes; buying new (discounted) clothes and next stop the M.A.C. make-up counter for a new lip-gloss armed with my store credit from the Bay ( I returned some gifts that were not my taste).

One hour alone has renewed my self-confidence and ready to go back to the family. All it cost me was thirty dollars for a new pair of pants. One glance at my watch stirs me to stop for a quick glass of wine in the lounge near by.

I look fabulous for less but feel so much more.
