Three Tips For Living the Life You Want Right Now

Is balance and me-time just something else to put on your endless to-do list?  Living a balanced life can be simple, even for the busiest of multi-tasking moms, if you incorporate these three easy steps.

 Live like there’s nothing to fear - As a female motion picture writer/director, most days I just do what needs to be done, to hell with self-doubt! But some days, the doubt rains in my head threatening to drown my confidence. So how do I counter days like today when my negative self-talk is just a tad too loud?

Practice gratitude - When I’m scared, I literally count my blessings. Knowing and recognizing all the good I have in my life instantly makes me feel better and more gutsy.

But the biggest secret behind finding courage to help me live a balanced life and act accordingly?

Live like you only live once

Yes, it seems contradictory that I live life to the fullest because I know I'm going to die someday.  But knowing this means I make a concerted effort to make the most of my time here. It’s critical (pun intended) that I be my most authentic self now because it can be gone in the blink of an eye. So I bring my A game, get my freak on and do the wild thing. Now. Because even if there is such thing as re-incarnation, I will never get a chance to be this again.

I won’t be 5 foot 3 next time round. I won’t have the same to-do lists. But if I do come back as a woman, I betcha, I’ll have a new set of to-dos that I might never achieve. And I’ll be as grateful then, as I am now, for the opportunity to try.
