What Father's Day Should Be!

A Daddy's Fantasy

As a dad with two young kids, Father’s Day isn’t really that different than any other day in our house. Compared to Mother’s Day, we either get a tie, power tool or bbq accessories.

What Father’s Day should be is the ultimate Dad’s getaway and with that I present my fantasy day (if we all had Donald Trump bank accounts).

6:00 a.m. - Wake up and breakfast is waiting for you at the kitchen table. Eggs, multigrain toast and espresso, to be enjoyed while reading the day's news on your tablet. After a nice long shower, head out the door in your Ferrari convertible for a nice morning cruise. As an added perk, Formula 1 champ Michael Shumacher has flown in to take you around the local racetrack.

11:00 - Stop in at the range, hit two buckets of balls, every shot hit perfectly.

11:45 - Lunch on the patio. Salad with chicken and a perfectly chilled beer. While not an official member of the YMC, former King of Queens star and host on the CBS show “The Talk”, Leah Remini and soon to be Yummy Mummy, Alyssa Milano will join this Dad for lunch.

1:00 - Quick nap in a hammock by the water with only the sound of boaters going by.

2:15 - Head off to the movie theatre to watch the latest action flick. Explosions, car chases and a half decent story line will make up the next two hours. Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer who this Dad follows on Twitter, has agreed to give me a small role in his next destruction movie. This day couldn’t possibly get any better?

5:30 - Dinner reservations. To make this meal more special, several celebrity chefs have agreed to come in and help prepare the meal. Giada De Laurentiis, Guy Fieri, Ricardo Larrivée, Michael Smith, Mark McEwan, Mario Batali, Greta and Janet Podleski, Lynn Crawford, Michael Blackie and David Rocco are all pitching in. Joining me at the table, Host of “No Reservations” Anthony Bourdain. If you’ve seen his show, he’s got plenty of stories to tell and I’m sure the behind the scenes stuff is worthy of a best seller. This dad’s only request is no mushrooms and whatever you make, please have plenty of Red wine available.

9:30 - Your limo takes you home and you hit the backyard for a quick cigar. For some comic relief after a long day, some of my closest pals along with a few funny guys drop by. Ricky Gervais, Jerry Seinfeld, Russel Peters and Chris Rock.

Now that, is what Father’s Day should be. The reality, is my kids will make a card and I’ll spend half the day sleeping on the couch. Enjoy the day!
