My Hubby, The Superhero

by: Joyce Ho
When we think of Superman| we picture a young| sexy Christopher Reeves in his blue tights with red cape. As a little girl| he was my hero and the man I was going to marry.

Today| I live with the real life Superman: My husband - Mr. Mom.

He's not your typical man so to speak. He's my personal chef| part-time nanny| business partner| garbage man| handy man| dog walker and well| let's just say he does it all! Of course we share our duties| but there are so many dads just like my husband that go unnoticed.

Traditionally| men are the breadwinners and women are the caregivers. However| times have changed and in some cases| the roles may even be reversed. Try comparing who has the tougher job: Mom or Dad? Being a dad is just as tough as being a mom. When daddy comes home from a hard day at work| the last thing he wants to deal with is a crying| whiny kid. Sorry moms| but dads are just as significant as we are and at times we take that for granted.

He might not be at home with you all day dealing with the crying| temper tantrums and bolts of unused energy. But instead| he is at work worrying about putting food on the table that your child doesn't want to eat| wondering when his next day off is so he can spend time with his family and wishing he were at home rather than listening to other people complain all day! Sometimes we forget what our men do for us.

Who would have thought that bringing this tiny little person into the world would turn our lives upside down?! Having children takes its toll on the relationship| but in the end we only have each other. So for all you yummy mummies: Remember to thank your husband for what he has done for you. And all you dads| don't forget to tell your wife how much you love her because she needs to hear that from time to time.

Kudos to all the Superdads out there. This one's for you!

Happy Fathers Day!

Joyce Ho is not your typical kinda gal. Getting married and having kids was the top 2 things on her NOT TO DO list. That didn't last very long. Today, she is the mother of a 2 year old daughter, wife of 6 years to Superman and owner of Booda Bellie.

After having her daughter in 2006, Joyce ended her career as a Dental Hygienist and decided to be her own boss. Her daughter was born with sensitive skin, so conventional clothing just wasnt cuttin' it. Her hunt for organic clothing led to the creation of Booda Bellie, which is a Canadian-made organic and eco-friendly line for children.

Being a stay-at-home mompreneur with a "high-needs" child presents many challenges. So when Joyce has time to unwind, she like to drift into lala land by doing at least 1 of 2 secret addictions: 1) reading celeb gossip magazines 2) going on FB.
