The Monkey Joe Morning Shake

Start your day shakin' with a delicious breakfast

I recently was able to participate at a great event sponsored by Truestar Protein Powder and wanted to share my morning shake recipe with you all. Bananas caramelized in a touch of pure Canadian maple syrup; natural peanut butter; low fat milk and frozen yogurt; and a jolt of coffee to get your morning off on the right foot. Delicious and nutritious—Enjoy!

Monkey Joe Morning Shake
Serves: 2

Ingredients:

1 scoop Truestar protein powder
1 banana, halved lengthwise
1 tsp. pure maple syrup
1/8 cup natural creamy peanut butter
1.5 cups skim milk
1.5 cups lowfat vanilla frozen yogurt
1 packet Via instant coffee dissolved in 1 oz hot water

Preparation:

 Heat a pan over Medium heat and lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray. Add syrup and once boiling add in the banana halves. Caramelize for 5 to 6 minutes, turning once. 
 Combine all ingredients in blender and enjoy!

Gav is happiest when cooking for a hungry crowd. Cleaning up afterwards - not so much.
