Forget hot chocolate from a can, make your own at home! This one is gently spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. You can up the chocolate factor to your liking, too. I love to top it with whipping cream and shaved chocolate to make it extra special. For the adults your could also add a splash of rum, too!
Ingredients:
1-1 1/2 cups milk
1-2 tbsp cocoa
2 tbsp vanilla sugar, or plain sugar
cinnamon stick
3 whole cloves
nutmeg
whipped cream and semi sweet chocolate
Heat the milk with the cinnamon stick, cloves, and a pinch of nutmeg gently over low heat gently for about 5 minutes.
In a different pot, measure out your cocoa. Spoon a little of the hot milk into it and stir to make a paste. Slowly whisk in the rest of the spiced milk. Heat, stirring, and add the sugar.
Strain out the cloves and cinnamon stick before pouring into a mug and topping with fresh whipped cream and chocolate shavings. YUM.
