Before reading my very first humor erotica book, I was wary. Honestly, who wants to think of sex and laughing together? Normally, not me.
After reading my first funny smut book, I was looking for more. These authors created real people in real situations doing real things, and they just happened to be hilarious. From silly situations and overtly funny personalities to hardcore love scenes, good humor erotica runs the gamut of your emotions.
Sure authors can be funny, but creating a book or a series of books that is both funny and sexy is a talent not many people have (or have thought of).
Take into consideration the name alone: "Wallbanger." Using this tongue-in-cheek reference to the Harvey Wallbanger drink, Alice Clayton created a story of Simon who does, indeed, bang on walls. His neighbor, Caroline, suffers through his nightly wall banging until the two discover they are the perfect couple, banging walls together.
There's almost nothing in this world that I love more than laughing out loud while reading a book. I did that over and over while reading Wallbanger. Alice knows just how to intermingle hilarious situations with crazy monkey sex without making me feel uncomfortable for laughing at a sexy book. [read my full 5/5 star review]
My Favorite Wallbanger Quote
"He was wooing me. And I was letting him woo. I wanted the woo. I deserved the woo. I needed the wow that would surely follow the woo, but for now, the woo? It was whoa."

When you end up wanting to be just like a female character, or at least be one of her friends, you know an author has done a good job with her book. Tara Sivec did exactly that with her book, Seduction and Snacks, the first of her Chocolate Lovers series.
If I had to pick just one book in which to immerse myself and become a character, it would be the Chocolate Lovers books. There is no billionaire alpha male to whisk me off to Tahiti or a badass biker to rescue me from a kidnapping. There's just Claire, Carter, and their middle class group of insanely funny friends (and everyone is having sex).
I've read some books that have funny lines and situations sprinkled in, but a humor smut book is hard (heh) to find. Picking this book up yesterday and finishing it today, letting all other responsibilities go by the wayside, I pushed through (heh) to finish because I had to know what was going to happen. I was addicted to the funny, hanging (heh) on every nuance as if the author was inside my brain knowing what I wanted to read. [read my full 5/5 star review]

"I glanced down into my glass, trying to count the ice cubes and lost track after one. Wow, what did they put in this vodka?"

Bursting onto the bestselling charts with her first romance book, Tangled, Emma Chase has every person who reads this book laughing out loud. This book is different from most smut books in that it is told from the male character's point-of-view. Drew is a playboy with a heart of gold and opinions on everything. Seriously. Opinions on everything.
It takes some seriously funny writing for me to actually laugh out loud while I'm reading alone, but Emma Chase made me not only laugh aloud but have to stop what I was reading to re-read what I didn't believe I just read. Tangled is panty-dropping, outrageously funny, and overwhelmingly lovely. I finished it in nearly one sitting because I had to know more of Drew and Kate and their tit-for-tat, anti-romance story. My Favorite Tangled Quote
"Every healthy man in the world wakes up with a stiffy. A fatty. Morning wood. I’m sure there’s some medical explanation for the phenomenon, but I just like to think of it as a little present from God."
Alice Clayton is appearing on this funniest smut books list twice because she's the hands-down go-to author for funny reads. In doing some crowdsourcing for this article, the overwhelming response to my social media question, "What are the funniest smut books you've read?" Alice Clayton's books far out-weighed all other authors.
The first two of the Redhead series were published in 2010, and with the increase of erotica book popularity, she's releasing a third book, The Redhead Plays Her Hand, at the end of 2013. It will undoubtedly make us pee our pants and gasp for air.
I have to admit, I was reluctant to read a book described as "humor erotica," because I didn't want the love scenes to be turned into a slapstick routine. I was more than pleasantly surprised when I started reading The Unidentified Redhead and couldn't put it down. The author, Alice Clayton, weaves a realistic (to a point) story of people who are just like us, act like us, and love (just a little more) like us. I can't recommend this and the follow-up book, The Redhead Revealed, more to fans of erotica and romance. GET THIS BOOK! Undeniably, one of my favorite romance/erotica books ever. Funny, endearing, emotional, romantic, lovely, smutacular. [read my full 5/5 star review]

For some people, when you see a WARNING label on something, you take heed. When I see a WARNING label on a book, I open it up, settle in, and enjoy the ride. Strings has a WARNING label letting readers know it's hardcore smut with language and situations sure to make you cringe.
And...it's hilarious. There are terms for body parts in this book I'd never imagined could be used to describe certain body parts. It's insanely funny and jaw-dropingly shocking.
You know how you pick up a book with certain expectations and it goes above, beyond, and over the moon exceeding those expectations? That's what Strings is for me. I knew it was going to be dirty (hello? read the author's synopsis), but I didn't expect Strings to make me laugh inside and out over and over. This is not a book for everyone, especially if you're squeamish reading extra dirty sexing. Strings is super, duper, over-the-top dirty. [read my full 5/5 star review here]

Angie Lynch is a Native Floridian without a tan, probably because she spends her days hard at work inside on the magical internet. For the past several years, Angie has worked way too hard at building clout as an influencer in food and margaritas as well as being a source for laughable pop culture commentary on her blog, A Whole Lot of Nothing.
