The novel "The Book Of Negroes" portrays Aminata Diallo's poignant perspective from African history and shares her harrowing journey of being taken as a child into slavery. It follows her through hardship on an undying quest for freedom and now Lawrence Hill's "The Book Of Negroes" has finally been adapted into a six-part miniseries.
The first episode aired on January 7th on CBC TV and will continue airing on Wednesday nights at 9:00 PM ET. Did you miss watching it? No worries! You can view episode 1 online on CBC.ca. And it's worth watching. The set and exteriors are sweeping and beautiful and there's a stellar cast, including Oscar winners Louis Gossett Jr., Cuba Gooding Jr., Aunjanue Ellis (The Help), Lyriq Bent (Rookie Blue), Jane Alexander (The Cider House Rules), Ben Chaplin (Dorian Gray), and Allan Hawco (Republic of Doyle).
