As a Can Lit fan, I eagerly await this list hoping to find some new gems to read, and I love to follow any contest that highlights and supports our Canadian literary talent! The list of 12 books on the Scotiabank Giller Prize Longlist was announced on September 17, 2014. The much anticipated list of Giller shortlisted authors was announced on October 6, 2014. So, without further ado, here are the top 6 books vying for the 2014 Scotiabank Giller Prize!

The 2014 Scotiabank Giller Prize winner will be revealed at the annual Scotiabank Giller Prize gala, which will air on CBC Television on Monday, November 10, with host Jian Ghomeshi of CBC Radio's Q.
