Toys to Keep Minds Engaged, Active, and Sharp

No more ‘Hey Mom, I’m bored!’

“HEY MOM, I’M BORED!!!” The words every Super Mom dreads hearing as summer wears on and kids wear out. It can be difficult to keep your kids active and engaged throughout the entire summer.  On those days when Mother Nature won’t co-operate and your little monster is stuck indoors it can get even more challenging. Have no fear, there are some great products out there to help tame those monsters.  And these items will keep their minds engaged, active and help sharpen the crucial skills required for when they FINALLY return to school in September.

Creativity for Kids: Sock Puppets

Create three super-soft sock puppets into a trio of fuzzy friends. This no mess craft, features dozens of peel and stick felt shapes, self-adhesive wiggly eyes and fuzzy fun embellishments. No glue required!. Just add a little imagination and let the show begin!  Help your budding actors practice writing and story skills by having them write a story or script for their new fuzzy friends and perform it for Mommy and Daddy.

Creativity for Kids: Mask Making Kit

Create five fun masks with plaster gauze and imagination. This messy craft can fill and entire afternoon.  Kit includes both full and half mask forms, paint, feathers, rhinestones, glitter, glue, ribbon, elastic cord and all the crafting must have’s like scissors.  Decorated masks can be used for play or displayed in your child’s bedroom. Help your little artists plan their mask by challenging them to create their favourite story book character, or help practice research skills by having them research an animal and creating a mask for it.  Tons of memories and messy fun!

Bananagrams Word Game

Drive your family banana’s with one of the fastest growing games around. Used in schools to practice spelling skills, Bananagrams is perfect for families with mixed ages.  Players race against each other to create their own unique crossword grid and use all their letter tiles. Hours of family fun and spelling practice too, what could be better.
