Filing Cabinet Makeover

from blah to ooh la la

Filing Cabinet Makeover

I was working on an office segment for Cityline and, because I like to have a little DIY in everything I do, I thought I would take my husband's old scruffy filing cabinet and turn it into an end table. It was so easy to do!

Here is what it looked like before, black, dented and dusty! Notice the paint splattered on the front.

I gave it a good wipe with a wet cloth and when it was dry, I applied a coat of primer with a foam roller. Make sure the primer you choose is suitable for metal.

I then rolled on two coats of Benjamin Moore Advance Paint in China Blue. I can't tell you how much I LOVE Advance paint. I put that sh*t on everything. Again, I used a foam roller for a smooth finish.

The filing cabinet that was tucked away in the dark corners of our basement, is now chic enough to use in a stylish office don't you think?

DIY Instagram Magnets

Add some fun to your fridge

DIY Instagram Magnets

I have been kind of obsessed with intsagram DIY projects lately. I also have a thing for fridge magnets. Each time I travel, it is the one souvenir that I always buy. I thought I would combine two of my favourite things to create these very simple and fun instagram magnets. I even made one of my magnet collection. Because that's how I roll.

Materials:

-adhesive magnet sheet
-printed photos
-paint brush
-scissors

How To:

-Import your photos from instagram to your computer, either via email or by connecting your phone to your computer.
-Using photo software or a word program, resize the photos to desired measurements. Save as a jpeg and print.
-Stick each photo to the adhesive magnet sheet and cut them out. The sheets come in 4x6. You can get them at Michaels.

See? I told you it was easy!
