Dreaming of Spring

gorgeous spring flowers

Dreaming of Spring

I don’t know about you, but I am dreaming of spring.

There may snow on the ground and a scarf around my neck, but soon, hopefully very soon, the world will be back in bloom.

Until then, here are some beautiful images to bring a little spring into your day. Enjoy!

I could stare at this last image all day. Couldn’t you just imagine this as the road that led to your home? Absolutely beautiful.

What is your favourite spring bloom?

Your Amazing Ideas for Jessie's Room - Thank You

Your Amazing Ideas for Jessie's Room - Thank You

I have literally received hundreds of amazing ideas for Jessie’s bedroom reno-cation.

First, let me say thank you! I am truly inspired by your creativity.

I think it would be a tad selfish to keep all of these amazing design tips to myself so here are a just a few of the suggestions that I think would work for Jessie’s space:

Use magnetic paint above a desk as a spot for Jessie to display her art and posters Karen from Arthur, ON

Stick to adult-sized furniture that have a timeless design style
Kris from Langley, BC

Use the tea party art to inspire the colours for the space
Lisa from Ottawa, ON

Build a window bench with storage in the playroom
Ana from Oakville, ON

Wouldn't something like this look amazing?!

Go subtle with the wall colour and add Jessie’s favourite colours with the bedding, pictures, area rugs and curtains
Angela from Lethbridge, Alberta

Shop for furniture at Ikea
Aimee from Rosedale Valley, AB

Put a small sofa in the playroom that converts to a bed for sleepovers
Hattie from Yarmouth, NS

Many of you suggested installing a ballet bar and full length mirrors in the playroom. Although I know Jessie would love that right now, it would be expensive to install and difficult to remove. Many also suggested decorating the rooms with a ballet theme, either with decals, a mural or artwork. I hesitate to decorate the entire space based on one interest, as I worry she may tire of it quickly.

Others suggested using neutral colours but I can’t help myself; Jessie has a vibrant personality and I want her room to be a reflection of that.

I hope you are as inspired by these fantastic ideas as I am! But don’t think your job is done; I still need your help. Check out my shopping trip and paint dilemma here and share your opinions by entering our contest. Don’t forget, there are $300 Home Hardware gift certificates for five of you! And if you have not entered Royale's $25,000 Reno-cation contest, what are you waiting for?? You could win the renovation and holiday of a lifetime.

Stay tuned to my blog for more of your great tips and then...the moment we have all been waiting for...The Reveal!
