Here is an idea for Valentine's Day—instead of spending lots of money in a crowded restaurant, why don't you make a romantic dinner at home? I find fondue to be the ultimate and cozy treat in the winter. Plus, there's no cooking since it's all done on the table, and the setting is so romantic and sexy.
Here's the best recipe to make a Swiss-style cheese fondue from scratch:
Put all of the ingredients in your fondue pot and let the cheese melt over medium heat—mixing constantly—until you get the perfect creamy texture. Transfer the pot to your fondue stand and enjoy with pieces of bread and freshly cut vegetables.
The tradition says that if your bread (or veggie) falls off your fork, you have to kiss the person next to you :) Fun, fun, fun!
And why not go for a chocolate fondue for dessert, with a nice glass of sparkling wine!
Who thought we would ever see these two words in the same sentence without a catch 22?? Usually the word creammmy means yummmmy, but it also means fattttty!!!
Not this time, all 5 ingredients are healthy:
No oil, no cream or any other dairy products. In fact, it is the avocado that creates the perfect creamy dressing texture, and the lemon juice keep it fresh and green.
Start by washing your kale leaves and shredding them into a bowl.
Then grate a carrot, add half to one cup of unsalted toasted nuts (pistachios, walnuts, or even pumpkin or sunflower seeds).
Throw in your avocado (peeled and cut in half) and squeeze the juice of one lemon.
With your hands, mix it all together until the avocado blends perfectly and coats all kale leaves of its creaminess. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Note: this salad is even better when it is prepared in advance.
So yummy, you’ll want to eat it all but if there is any left over, unlike any other kind of salads, it will keep very well until the next day.
Enjoy as much as you like!!!
This is the perfect combination of ingredients to soothe your stomach after the holidays. Or any time.
Ingredients:
Combine the broth, the onion, and the ginger, and bring to a boil.
Remove the cooked chicken breast from the broth, slice it and return to the pot.
Add the bok choy and the fish sauce, cook for another 5 minutes, and serve with a pinch of Cayenne. You can also sprinkle with some thinly sliced green onions, parsley, and even coriander leaves.
(4 portions)
A warm taste of comfort and relaxation!
