A Fun—And Jiggly—Valentine's Day Treat

Valentine's Day was always celebrated in my house as a kid. My mom, who was an "ahead of her time" Yummy Mummy, would put a Valentine's card and a special treat on our breakfast plate on Valentine's morning. I will never forget the beautiful red hearts and messages of love—it made us feel so special! Of course, I do this at home now with my daughter. We decorate with pretty hearts all over the house—sometimes we buy them, sometimes we draw our own—and we never forget to hang one for the dog and one for the cat over each of their bowls. Planning ahead this year, my daughter found this amazing recipe for homemade gummy beard. Except she made them of hearts, stars, and . . . fish(?). Why not?  

Here's the recipe:

1/2 cup of water

2 sheets of gelatine

1 pack of Jello

 In a small pot, bring the water to a boil. 

 Add the gelatine (previously soaked in water for 1-2 mins.) and the Jello. Mix well until the gelatine and the Jello crystals have dissolved, then pour into your choice of shapes.

 Let it set in the fridge (or outside, if it's cold enough) for at least 1 to 2 hours.
