Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC), and the Maison Joseph Battat Ltee have jointly recalled two batches (010810 or 063010) of the following keychain toy:
- BX1001Z (062243 228818 and 062243 228818)
Intended for children ages 6 months and up, the keychain toy poses a choking hazard since the plastic key ring can break.
31 incidents of key or key ring breakage have been reported in the States.
The toy should immediately be removed from children. Consumers can contact Maison Joseph Battat Ltd. to receive a pre-paid envelope to return the toy and receive a free replacement.

From 2006 to April 2011, approximately 3,600 units of the recalled FunKeys toys were sold throughout Canada and 1,075,600 in the United States.
