Finding Stuff Out

Go Ask Harrison

Calling all parents with hyper-curious kids. Are the whys driving you to drink? If the answer is a resounding yes, then TVO has got the program for you.

The new 'edutainment' show, aimed at kids 11 years and under called Finding Stuff Out, does exactly what it says on the tin. Real kids send in real questions about anything under the sun and then the 15-year-old host, Diary of a Wimpy Kid's Harrison Houde, attempts to answer them c/o google, some clever graphics and age-appropriate banter.

Think typical kid questions like, "Why does the moon follow you?", "Can humans grow fur?" (just visit the local YMCA) and "Is snow really white?" To which Harrison gets to quip, "Not if a dog pees on it."

The show is fun way to get your kid interested in science. So save your dull pause the next time your kid asks, "Mom/Dad, why is the sky blue?" and reply, "I'm not sure, sweetheart, why don't we ask Harrison?"

Heck, you might even learn a thing or two, e.g. bet you didn't know how to distinguish between different dog barks and what they mean? Me neither, yet that's exactly the sort of dinner party conversation starter this yummy lives for.

Finding Out Stuff premiered this past Friday on TVO. Click here to find out which other kids show get our proverbial thumbs up.
