Woman Shares Photo of Breast to Show 'Less Obvious' Sign of Cancer

Not all lumps and bumps

Breast Cancer | YummyMummyClub.ca

Our breasts deserve special attention. By that, I don't mean we should all go and put our boobs on social media. But Kylie Armstrong from Melbourne, Australia did just that - and for good reason.

We all know the importance of early detection.  But what if the signs of cancer go beyond scheduling regular mammograms and feeling for lumps and bumps?

Although Armstrong thought nothing of the "three faint dimples" on the underside of her breast, she booked an appointment with her doctor anyway.

Turns out, she had cancer deep in her breast, near the muscle.

Please take a good look at this photo. These 3 very, very subtle DIMPLES on the bottom of this breast are a sign of...

"These 3 dimples have turned my world and my families world upside down," Armstrong wrote in a public post on Facebook, following surgery to remove the cancer.

"I am sharing this because I hope I can make people aware that Breast Cancer is not always a detectable lump. Please go straight to your GP if you notice ANY change in your breast. It could save your life."

Although breast dimples aren't necessarily indicative of cancer (they could be symptoms of the benign fat necrosis), it's always a good idea to check out any abnormalities - however seemingly minor - in the tissue.

Many women have since contacted Armstrong and decided to get their own breasts checked out on the strength of her viral warning. We wish her a healthy future.
