RECALL: No Name and Compliments Frozen Chicken Products

Sofina Foods Inc. has recalled No Name and Compliments frozen uncooked breaded chicken products due to a possible Salmonella contamination.

Distributed nationally, the following products are affected by the recall:

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency advises customers not to consume the above products, which should be thrown out or returned to the place of purchase.

Although foods contaminated with Salmonella may look and smell fine, they can cause illness. Symptoms include fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea and even lead to severe arthritis in the long term.

In young children, pregnant women, the elderly and those with weak immune systems, Salmonella can cause serious and even fatal infections.

While no illnesses have been reported in relation to this product, the CFIA will continue its food safety investigation and ensure that the marketplace removes recalled items.
