Read it and weep, ladies. It seems a mini-Gosling is on the way. Hollywood glitterati Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes have confirmed they are expecting a child together.
An article in People has confirmed that she is, in fact, pregnant. Mendes shot down baby rumours when she appeared on Ellen in February (“It all started because I didn’t want to go through the scanners at the airport”), yet it's telling that the 40-year-old actress hasn't been photographed in public since March.
The baby will be the first for both actors, who began dating in 2011 and recently starred together in 33-year-old Gosling’s directorial debut, Lost River.
Mendes previously admitted she had no plans to marry or start a family. But who can blame her for the change of heart?
The baby is due in October. Let's hope the Goslings fare better at parenting than the characters they played in their 2012 movie, The Place Beyond the Pines.
