Graco Double Stroller Poses Safety Risk

Consumer Testing Reveals Brake Failure

stroller safety risk

According to a press release by Consumer Reports, during testing, the wheel brakes on Graco's Ready2Grow stroller released, causing it to roll.

Graco’s Ready2Grow features a seat as well as a platform to accommodate another child. Brake failure poses a potential threat to both children using the Ready2Grow Classic Connect LX and similar models—Classic Connect, Click Connect LX, and Click Connect.

The plastic 'teeth' used to lock the wheels when the brakes are activated not only failed to engage properly during the 20-degree incline testing, but revealed bending and stress marks. (By September 2015, 20-degree testing will be mandatory in the US.)

Graco strongly defends the reliability and safety of its stroller, with no reported brake-related incidents or injuries related to this model.

Customers are advised to contact Graco at 1-800-345-4109 regarding the following models: Ready2Grow Classic Connect LX or Classic Connect, Click Connect, or Click Connect LX.
