Health Canada has recalled the above foam Clingy Darts with UPC code 639277210197 and date code 1207, as the toys contain phthalate, di(2-ethylhexyl) (DEHP) in excess of the legally allowed limit.
When sucked or chewed, some phthalates, including DEHP, can cause reproductive and developmental abnormalities in young children.
While no incidents have been reported to Health Canada or Dollar Tree, customers are advised to remove the toys from children immediately and return them to a Dollar Tree location for a full refund or store credit.
From October 2012 to April 2014, approximately 2,560 of the dart toys were sold at Dollar Tree and Dollar Giant stores in Canada.
