RECALL: Hamilton Beach® Bébé Baby Food Maker

Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Hamilton Beach Brands, Inc. have jointly recalled the Hamilton Beach® bébé 5-Cup Baby Food Maker with model number 36531C (Canada) and 36531 (United States), and UPC 040094365319.

The stainless steel pin in the lid may loosen and fall into processed food.

While no injuries were reported, in Canada, Hamilton Beach Brands, Inc. has received three reportsof such incidents, and one in the United States.

Customers are advised to stop using the slicing/shredding disc immediately. Please contact Hamilton Beach Brands, Inc. for a free repair kit that includes a food bowl lid, removable motor shaft adaptor and slicing/shredding disc.  The baby food maker can still be used for steaming, chopping and pureeing.

From September 2013 through February 2014, approximately 1,803 of the baby food makers were sold in Canada, and 277 in the United States.
