No one does dog-tired like a mom. So what do you do when she drifts off while in public with her children? If you're this awesome being, you get the fellow mom's back and let her catch some Zs while you mind her kid. Sadly, that's not what happened on board a bus near Philadelphia.
According to an article in Jezebel, though a passenger filmed the mom passing out while her daughter tried to rouse her, no one called 911 or took any other means to report the incident to authorities.
And that is the truly disturbing part of the story. Clearly the mom had issues, likely drug related, that left her barely conscious on the bus.
"When you have a person doing the 'heroin nod' and a little girl is trying to hold her head up, that's horrifying," said Police Chief Tom Nestel.
We live in an age where people are so reluctant or afraid to get up in people's affairs—especially in people's parenting. But when we turn a blind eye, children are ultimately the ones who suffer.
An anonymous tip-off to the police or bus driver might have made a difference to the mom and her daughter.
If it takes a village, then why are its residents in hiding? Do you consider this dad's actions free-range or a felony?
