Tired of subsisting in cubicle hell with a tyrant boss? So was Marina Shifrin. The young woman who'd sold her soul working for an "awesome" media company tendered her resignation in a most unconventional fashion.
According to an article in TIME, Shifrin was still wrapping up at the office at the absurd hour of 4:30 a.m. when she decided to send her boss and the world a wake-up call.
"For almost two years I've sacrificed my relationships, time and energy for this job," said the rolling script on the video as Shifrin proceeded to get down to Kanye West’s Gone, turning her office into a solo dance party.
“My boss only cares about quantity and how many views each video gets.”
The delicious irony here is that Shifrin's video enjoyed exactly the kind of mass page views sought by her boss. Her creativity and integrity are the qualities that make her so employable.
Wouldn't be the least bit surprised if quitting turns out to be the best move of her career.
